Child and Youth Safe Recruitment Webinar and Guide
The Office of the Independent Regulator (OIR), in partnership with Tasmania Police and the Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Scheme, held its second online webinar for the sector in September.
The webinar covered:
- The role of the Tasmanian Police, Community and Engagement Unit.
- The role of the OIR, the regulators of the Child and Youth Safe Organisation Act 2023.
- The Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Scheme, the regulators of the Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Act 2013.
The online session discussed the standard reporting processes between these entities and the role they each play.
Child safe recruitment
Gemma Davie, Child Safe Education Officer delivered a concise overview of child safe recruitment practices, providing practical examples for organisations to use when attracting and retaining the right people who share the same organisational values.
