Active Tasmania Coach and Official Network – October and November 2025

Active Tasmania recently celebrated the return of the popular Coach and Official Network initiative in Hobart and Launceston.

The Coach and Official Network provides professional development and networking opportunities for state sporting organisation (SSO) coaching directors, sport development officers, and community sport coaches and officials in Tasmania. It also supports a cohesive, vibrant and inclusive sport and recreation sector, and promotes the benefits of sport, recreation and physical activity.

Active Tasmania was fortunate to have highly regarded speakers including State Manager at Touch Football Australia, Kim Williams, Head Coach at Kingborough Tigers Football Club, Jodie Mather, Participation and Programs Manager at AFL Tasmania, Aaron Roberts, and Quality Experience and Retention Lead at Cricket Tasmania Ryan Kelly.

Forty coaches, officials and volunteers representing a range of state, regional and community sporting organisations demonstrated their thirst for knowledge, and embraced the opportunity to meet and network with likeminded sport representatives across a range of sports.

The overall response and feedback was very positive, with sport representatives highlighting the opportunity to learn from guest speakers and meet and establish new sport networks.

Active Tasmania is planning to hold similar events in 2026.
